Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End
The significant line for today is the last line: "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." Now, how to get sevcen billion minds to think this way...

Solving Hillary's private email servor problem
Dear Hillary,
There is an easy way to turn the private email servor problem from a negative to a positive. Here's how.
Let it be known that the private email servor was a State Department cyber security project and that it was used as an intelligence honeytrap. That is to say, it was set up in order to identify those who might attempt to compromise your email by hacking into the servor.
Further, let it be known that as part of the project, the information on the servor was false or misleading information of no real national security value.
Once the servor was set up with watchguards developed by our own cyber intelligence operatives, it would be a simple matter to identify those who had actually made the attempts to hack into the servor. It would also yield information about sources and methods being used by others for such activities against our information networks, both governmental and military.
How to release this information? Assuming that the State Department cyber security project was successful, and assuming that all useful information has thus been gained from the project, the best way to share the information with the public would be during one of the nationally televised Democrat debates when the inevitable question about the private email servor is asked.
Another way is to have some somewhere gradually drop hints and suggestions that the private email servor was a sting operation to catch cyber hackers attempting to learn our government's secrets.
The issue goes away and your credibility soars and you become the next President of the United States.

Russia should be our 51st state...
What would Putin do if...
Say the United States did to Russia what Russia has done and is doing in Ukraine?
Say over the next few years that we infiltrated businesses, government offices, the military, and the mdia in Russia and gradually exerted pressures on them such that the general population lost faith in their institutions and economy.
What if the pressures were such that people demanded a change, and what if we put out the idea that the best solution would be for Russia to have a national referendum to voluntarily become the 51st state in the United States?
Now, what if the referendum was passed to do that?
Well, if such a scenario was okay for the Crimea region of Ukraine, surely Putin would see the legality of his people wishing to become a part of the United States...
No, we need not hold our breath until such a thing comes to pass, but, it IS a dreamy (if silly) thought... :)

A political commercial idea
Just to be first with the idea... :)
Some candidate could put together a commercial like the following:
Imagine a candidate standing in front of a large whiteboard. On the whiteboard are a well-done copy of the Declaration of Independence on the left, a copy of the Constitution in the middle, and a copy of the Bill of Rights on the right.
Now imagine that the candidate is holding a cloth in his hand.
Poinbting at the whiteboard, he says, "Here are the most important documents in America. " He holds up the cloth and says, "Here is the cloth Hillary Clinton used to wipe her email servor." Turining to the whiteboard, he begins ti wipe it clean and says, 'Here is what she will do with the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights if she is elected President." He finishes wiping the whiteboard clean.
"You, the voter, have a decision to make." Pointing at the whiteboard. "Is this really what you want to do?"
The commercial ends fading to black, possibly with a Russian funeral dirge...
........
This commercial would likely have the same impact as the Lyndon Johnoson Daisy commercial produced to make Americans fear Barry Goldwater...

Lenka - Everything At Once
Lena - Everything At Once... I guess that SCOTUS has thrown everything at once at us the last few days... what to do about it? I dunno... fly the flag upside down? Anyway, the only way to get beyond it is to listen to songs like this one, (thankfully).
Van Morrison - Wild Night (1971)
Van Morrison - Wild Night... in the days of this song, it meant (more of less) parking outside A&W Root Beer and showing off our engines and looking at the pretty girls... Now? Well, sad to say, meanness rules the world except for the few seconds we can listen to songs like this one and remember being "good boys"...
Bobbi Martin For The Love Of Him
Bobbi Martin - For The Love Of Him... well, who would sing this dong today? Nancy Pelossi? Hillary Clinton? Jane Fonda? Who? Well, maybe Sarah Palin? No, probably not even her or any other woman... times have changed...

Taya Kyle on the book AMERICAN GUN by Chris Kyle (author of American Sni...
Having read "American Sniper" by Chris Kyle some weeks ago, I was curious about his other book, "American Gun", got it, and just finished it, too.
I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed both books. Being something of an introverted intellectual follower who COULD have been macho (:-)), it was great riading the words of a man who actually succeeded at overcoming the chickification of men in America, Europe, and other places. Thank Goodness for Texas and Alaska...yes, Sarah Palin, you, too, are in Chris' fellowship.
Still, there is a whole lot of killing going on in both books. It is nice to see it written out in words. We all know that killing goes on all the time all over the world and has been going on throughout all of history.
The sad part is that no one and nothing can stop it.

"Rocket Men"
Just finished "Rocket Men" by Craig Nelson and I give it 5 stars, 10 of 10, gold medal, whatever... :) Those of us of the Apollo generation are mostly gone forever or "leaving soon" and we who are left wonder what comes after now and wish we could be here for it...

What a Wonderful World ~ Louis Armstrong [HD]
Louis Armstrong - What A Wonderful World... this was one of Don Imus' good-bye songs during his last week on "Imus In The Morning" on the Fox Business channel... he will still be on radio, but we will miss him on tv... one can HOPE that he is not in the final stages of you-know-what... hopefully, he is just devoting everything to his family and friends and happiness...

Spanky & Our Gang - Like To Get To Know You 1968
Spanky And Our Gang - I'd Like To Get To Know You... This seems to be a good original single recording which is better than the album recording of the song... at least, for as long as YouTube allows it to remain on the site... the best part is the ending that trails off into "wishing" for someone trying to meet someone... :-)
