Challenger Accident Investigation (1986)



This weekend's Science Channel presentation of "The Challenger Disaster" was an interesting exploration of Richard Feynman's role during the investigation. He knew he was dying from cancer and this gave him resolve to follow his whims and intuitions. You tend to do that when you know you have nothing to lose...animals are MOST dangerous when they are cornered...Feynman was 'cornered' by near death...
I was also pleased to know that Sally Ride was secretly instrumental in getting the truth out. I had been having some misgivings about her in recent years for her criticisms of NASA, but I take it all back and resume my utmost respect for her...
